Call Information Management Application Systems

Completing the care pathway between Custody Suite and Healthcare

CIMAS has been developed by users, for users within a UK custody setting. It has digitised and automated the call out process for a medical intervention in police custody, which previously relied on outdated, slow, convoluted phone processes.

Efficient
Workload Management

In addition to having embedded healthcare staff within a police custody setting there are inevitably times when a Healthcare Practitioner (HCP) will need to travel between sites to see patients, including call outs to remote locations for sudden deaths, sexual offence examinations and hospital blood procedures. In some cases, an HCP will be the primary healthcare practitioner for two, or more, custodies suites at a time.

In a healthcare setting of this nature, workload management is of the utmost importance. Equally important is timely communication between HCP and custody staff regarding that workload. In addition, managers require overview of their operation and management and performance information in the form of live updates and reports. For healthcare providers using a standard call centre for the custody environment it takes multiple calls to relay the information required to begin a callout. Referrals within the service, especially in the new integrated health and L&D models can take a fair amount of time to organise. CIMAS streamlines this process.

Accurate Performance Data

  • Automating workload management based on several key factors including; an HCP’s current workload; geographic location and the level of care needed for the patient;

  • Offering real-time communication between the custody sergeant and HCP of callout progress. This ranges from an HCP’s acceptance of the callout to the time the consultation has ended, with the HCP able to send quick updates through the CIMAS mobile application;

  • Offering real-time communication and reporting for the centralised call centre staff;

  • Providing an area map functionality for satellite navigation to the relevant site, accompanied by the ability for a custody sergeant and call centre agents to view the progress of an HCP’s travel and time of arrival at the custody suite;

  • Instantly generating referrals and reviews, also distributed through the CIMAS system to the relevant HCP;

  • Increasing transparency during a callout with the added benefit of KPI reporting afterward.

The application makes the call out process simpler, easier and more robust for call centre operators, HCPs, L&D practitioners and custody sergeants, ultimately improving patient experiences and patient safety.
